Once upon a time in the lush jungles of Indonesia, there lived a clever mouse deer named Kancil. Kancil was known for his wit and quick thinking, which often saved him from trouble. One sunny day, Kancil felt thirsty and wanted to cross a river to reach a tree with juicy fruits on the other side. However, the river was home to a group of crocodiles who were always hungry.

Kancil stood at the riverbank, thinking of a plan. Suddenly, he called out loudly, “Hey, Crocodiles! The King of the Jungle has sent me to count all the crocodiles in this river. He wants to reward you for being strong and brave!”

Hearing this, the crocodiles swam closer. Their leader said, “Really? What do we need to do?”
